Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) provide opportunities to develop a community of peers, enhance your learning, cultivate leadership skills, and get involved in the community beyond Adler University.  The Office of Student Affairs provides resources for these groups, including leadership development, and logistical and budgetary support.

Starting an RSO

Interested in starting a Recognized Student Organization? The documents below will get you started.

Organizations can be campus specific or span Chicago, Vancouver, and online. Please note, if you are looking to restart an inactive organization, please contact Student Affairs via email.

STEP 1: VIEW | PPT — Walk through the necessary steps to start a new organization.

STEP 2: DEVELOP | Identify another student leader and then use this provided template to create the RSO’s organizational constitution.

STEP 3: PETITION | Acquire 10 student signatures for the New RSO Petition. Contact Student Affairs via email for the online form for distribution.

STEP 4: ADVISING | Once you’ve identified the RSO’s faculty or staff adviser, work together to complete this worksheet and outline expectations.

STEP 5: COMPLETE + SUBMIT | Complete the RSO application and send to Student Affairs via email after all of the above documents have been reviewed and all required documents are prepared.
